Frequently Asked Questions

Q: WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

A: Microblading is a technique of semi-permanent tattooing that involves a hand-held tool with sterile fine needles that are configured in a row to resemble a blade. This tool creates realistic individual hair-like strokes in the skin by depositing pigment into the first layer of the skin. It is highly creative and the ability to achieve super realistic hair strokes is dependent on the skill/experience of the technician. This technique is used to achieve natural looking results. Most clients are able to go back to work or carry on with their day post procedure.

Q: WHAT ARE OMBRE POWDER BROWS?

A: Ombre powder brows is also a semi-permanent procedure that involves a hand held machine with a sterile needle in a cartridge used to create fine pixels by depositing pigment into the first layer of the skin. This technique creates a soft ombre effect from the tail being the darkest, then progressively getting lighter towards the front of the brow. The ombre method covers the whole eyebrow shape with pigment. Most clients are able to go back to work or carry on with their day post procedure.

Q: IS IT PERMANENT? HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

A: Although the goal is to provide clients with longevity, these procedures do not yield permanent results but it can become more and more permanent over time. The average retention and duration of pigments in the skin ranges from 1-3 years. The rate of retention depends on multiple factors such as skin-type (dry/oily/combination), lifestyle, health, hormonal levels and sun exposure. No two clients have the same retention and results.

Q: IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

A: Each person’s threshold is different, allowing some to tolerate more than others. With the application of a topical anesthetic, most clients experience little to no pain during the entire procedure.

Q: IS MY SKIN ELIGIBLE FOR MICROBLADING/ OMBRE POWDER BROWS?

A: If you have oily or sensitive skin, your skin may not be suitable for microblading as the results of the healed hair strokes may be more blurred and soft than on those with dry to normal skin. Oily skin will need touch-ups sooner as the tattoo will fade much faster. It is recommended for those with oily skin to opt for the Ombre Powder Brows for better retention and healed results.
